Admissions to Advanced Level Courses

Entry to courses is by application during November and December of the preceding year of entry.

Internal students will be given paper copies of the application form as part of the transition programme; these must be returned to reception by the deadline stated on the application. This is in the December of the year before entry to Sixth Form.

Applications to the Sixth Form for September 2017 entry are now closed, in accordance with our Admissions Policy.

For Entry to Sixth Form in September, 2017

The minimum academic requirements for entry of applicants into the Sixth Form are four GCSE passes at grades A*/A plus two GCSE passes at grade B. A/A* at GCSE are required in the subjects to be studied at AS/A level. From 2017, GCSE English language, English literature and mathematics will be graded on a scale of 9-1. In the entry requirements set out above, therefore, a grade 6 in any of these subjects will be counted as equivalent to a grade B and at grade 7 will be counted as equivalent to a grade A. All girls entering the Sixth Form will be required to have passed GCSE mathematics and English language with a minimum of a grade B, if taken in 2016, or a grade 6, if taken in 2017 (or an equivalent qualification recognised for tertiary education in the UK which will allow them to communicate effectively in spoken and written English and to understand spoken and written English without difficulty).

Exceptions to these requirements can be made by appeal in certain circumstances (e.g. illness, bereavement, equivalent qualifications).
