Introduction

Drama is a completely practical subject taught once a cycle in Years 7 and 8. Lessons cover a range of topics from theatrical styles to themes and texts, including Shakespeare. There is also a Drama Club for both years supported by Year 12 and 13 Drama and Theatre Studies students.

Drama is a GCSE option and AQA Drama and Theatre Studies is also taught at A Level.

There are lots of opportunities for performance both through drama clubs and by getting involved in the annual Year 10 scripted performance. In Year 9 we have a drama club which results in a performance in the summer term, usually of a shorter Shakespeare.
