Ranger Outpost is a safe, secure and reliable remote access solution that allows Staff and Students to access their work on the School network from home 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
It is a handy tool that does away with the need for emailing documents home or keeping them on a pen drive.
Ranger works through a client installed on your home computer.
The Outpost Client works across the Internet and allows access to any files you would normally have access to at school, usually your H: drive (Home folder) and P: (Student area) to be downloaded from the School network server to your home PC. There will also be access to hand-in folders (Staff) but do not use these until your teacher tells you to do so.
These files can then be opened and worked on from home. If you make changes to these files, they can later be uploaded back to the School network server to ensure your modifications are available next time you log on at school!
Unfortunately Ranger Outpost cannot be used with Apple Macs.
