PTA Covenant Scheme

Helping Your Daughter

Dear Parent / Carer
As a new parent to school, we should like to introduce you to the PTA Covenant Scheme. This is a most effective way of raising money for the PTA; it contributes significantly to our annual income.

Gift Aid Helping Your Daughter

Gift Aid is a simple, tax-efficient way to raise money for the school. Please see the attached sheet entitled Gift Aid Overview. Donations from family and friends of girls attending school are eligible for Gift Aid. By virtue of our status as a charity, we are able to claim Gift Aid which further boosts our income.

An example of how your Gift Aided contribution benefits our girls
From you From the HMRC Total Contribution to PTA Covenant Scheme per Year
Monthly Contribution Annual Contribution Repayment of Tax at 25p in the £1
£5 £60 £15 £75
£10 £120 £30 £150
£15 £180 £45 £225
£20 £240 £60 £300
£25 £300 £75 £375
£50 £600 £150 £750

Please note:

Donors who are liable at the higher rate of income tax can, additionally, claim tax relief for the difference between the higher rate and the basic rate of income tax using Self-assessment forms.

With regard to the tax efficiency of the scheme, we ask you to give a regular sum each month; this can be as large or as small as you wish, the added bonus is that we can claim money back from the taxman which increases the value of your donation at no additional cost to you.

If every parent of every girl in the school donated just £5 per month, we would raise with the benefit of added Gift Aid over £93,000 for the whole year.

Whatever the amount, we appeal to you to give as generously as you can. Please remember that all income raised by the PTA is invested wisely on behalf of all the girls. All monies, raised by the wholly voluntary effort of everybody in the PTA, benefit all the pupils as a whole. Your daughter will certainly be touched by the improved school facilities at large or indeed at a personal level via contributions towards her own particular interests or pursuits.

Fund Matching:

Some parents work for companies who are willing to provide funds within their community. If you can help increase our funds by matching funds from your company, please let us know.

We need your support, so please complete the attached form, Gift Aid Declaration, and return it to school. Please give as generously as your circumstances will allow.
