Headteacher's Welcome

AGGS Headteacher - Mrs Mary Speakman Welcome to the website of AGGS. It is a really wonderful school in which to learn, or work, and we are all extremely proud of our achievements.

Founded in 1910, AGGS is a school with Academy status and we enjoy working with other schools within our Educational Trust. We were one of the first designated teaching schools in the country and our specialism is Modern Foreign Languages.

We are proud of our traditions but we are a vibrant, outward looking community as well. Our pupils and students are encouraged to work independently and seize the opportunities offered to them, including a rich programme of extra-curricular activities.

Outstanding relationships between the girls and staff ensure that learning is always challenging. Our excellent examination results bear witness to this.
