Food-tech-Dec-2018-1

Food-tech-Dec-2018Thank you to all the students in food and nutrition for all their hard work this term. We have had a really successful term. The year started with a trip to Stockley farm for Year 11 to learn about organic farming. The year 10 students enjoyed a talk on food safety from Martin Whelan from the FSA and a visit from some PHD students from Manchester University who taught them more about diabetes. The Year 11 students enjoyed their practical session with Paul Trainor from Trafford College, a chef lecturer who showed them how to prepare and fillet fish. The Year 10 students had a trip to the BBC Good Food show, read all about it here. We finished the term delivering Christmas bakes to the residents of St Andrew’s Court in Altrincham.

Happy Christmas to everyone. Have a safe and restful holiday
