This year, Miss Maunder became the newest member of the IT/Computing department. We caught up with her to see how she is finding her first term at AGGS!

How are you finding AGGS (compared to other schools)?
“I am really enjoying working at AGGS! The students are really friendly and hardworking.”

What’s the best thing about AGGS?
“The students and the surroundings – it’s nice to look out of the window and see so many trees!”

Why did you want to teach ICT/Computing?
“I have always enjoyed being on a computer as my dad taught me from a very young age. I originally trained as a Business Studies teacher, but I knew even before I qualified that I would always head towards ICT/Computing. I think the subject is so interesting because it changes every day.”

If you could teach another subject what would you teach?
“Music! I play the flute and piano and loved the subject at school.”

What was your least favourite subject at school and why?
“German. I am terrible at languages!”

Have you made any new friends?
“Yes, the staff are really friendly.”

What is your favourite year group to teach?
“I adore all the students I teach equally.”

What A Levels did you take?
“English Literature, ICT, History, Psychology”

What are your hobbies?
“I play for a netball team.”

Can you tell us one interesting fact about yourself?
“I was once in a Sketchers advert!”

Do you have any final words of advice for AGGS students?
“Enjoy these years in school as they really are the best times of your life!”

Big thank you to Miss Maunder for taking the time to talk to us, we wish her all the best for the rest of the year!
